Unscented undyed candles are genuinely better for a house with wood floors, which is a small thing to know.
Diffusers, Warmers, and Oil Rings
Fragrance oils are aggressive toward a urethane finish, and the concentrated ones sold in small bottles are the worst of them. A diffuser sitting directly on a wood floor, or on a low table where it can spit, will leave a ring where the coating has gone soft and cloudy. Put anything of that kind on a tray or a coaster, and treat a spill as urgent instead of something to get to later. Once the finish is etched, cleaning does not restore it, and a maintenance coat over the top does a good deal to hide it. A ceramic tray under the unit costs almost nothing and removes the risk entirely.
