Worse, it keeps moving under foot pressure for days, which is how one footprint at the back door becomes a faint black trail through three rooms by the end of the weekend. Ordinary mopping softens and spreads it.
The First Hour Matters More Than Anything We Do
If it is fresh, blot it, do not rub. Lift what you can with a plastic scraper or the edge of a card, and get every shoe in the house off and outside. Do not reach for a solvent, because most of what is under a kitchen sink will take a floor finish off faster than it takes the sealer off, and then you have two problems and one of them is permanent.

A staged chemical lift with recovery between passes, checking constantly that we are moving the sealer and not the finish. On a sound modern factory finish the odds are good. On an older floor with wax on it, or anywhere the finish is thin, the sealer has usually gone into the wood and then it is a stain, not a spill. We would rather tell you that up front than take money for four passes that were never going to work.
