Hardwood Floor Cleaning in Glenn Heights, TX

If somebody in the house uses a wheelchair, a rollator, or a walker, the wood floor is a piece of equipment and it needs to be treated like one.

Hard floors are usually a good decision for anyone with mobility equipment, because wheels roll and carpet fights back. What comes with that decision is a floor that has rubber and hard plastic running over the same few square feet, every day, in a very predictable pattern.

There are two things worth getting right. The marks are one, and they are the easy part. Traction is the other, and it is the part that actually matters.

The Black Marks Are Transfer, Not Damage

Rubber wheels and rubber walker tips leave dark streaks on a wood finish for the same reason a shoe sole does. Material rubs off the softer object onto the harder one and sits there. Around a bed, a chair, and a bathroom door in a house like this, those marks build into a solid dark patch. They lift off with proper cleaning and they are among the more satisfying things to take off a floor.

Traction Is the Reason We Do Not Use Shine Products

This is the important one. Mop-and-shine liquids and floor polish work by leaving a hard, slick polymer film behind. On a floor somebody is using a walker on, that slickness is a genuine hazard, and it gets worse with every application because the film thickens. Our maintenance coat is designed the other way: it protects without adding gloss for its own sake, and it does not turn the floor into a smooth plane. If your floor currently feels slippery in socks, that is the buildup, and taking it off is the single most useful thing that can happen to it.

Cleaning Around Someone Who Cannot Easily Move

We work room by room, and each room is walkable roughly half an hour after we finish it, so the house never becomes impassable. If there is a route that has to stay clear the whole time, tell us at the start and we will sequence around it. Nobody needs to leave the house for this and nobody needs to be relocated for the day.

Not sure whether your floor needs cleaning or refinishing? There are three tests you can run yourself in about a minute, and they will tell you which one you are dealing with before anyone quotes you.

A floor that somebody depends on to get around the house should be clean, protected, and not slick. Those three things go together. Call 469-530-0007 to talk it through, and the first cleaning is $50 off.

Hardwood questions from Glenn Heights homeowners

Will the floor be slippery while it dries?

Damp is the right word for it, and only for a few minutes in any given spot. That said, if someone in the household is unsteady, we will simply keep them out of the room we are working in and hand it back when it is dry. It is a scheduling matter, not a risk we ask anyone to manage.

Do wheelchair wheels scratch a wood floor?

Soft rubber wheels in good condition do not. What scratches is grit caught in the tread, and a chair that goes outdoors brings grit in with it. Wiping the wheels at the door does more for the floor than anything you could apply to it.

Can you do just the rooms that get used?

Yes. Plenty of households here have us do the main route and the living areas and leave the spare bedrooms alone. Tell us what matters and we will price only that.

Which areas does the crew cover?
