Hardwood Floor Cleaning in Hickory Creek, TX

We ask for twenty-four hours before rugs go back down, and the reason is specific enough to be worth explaining instead of just repeating.

Every company in this trade tells you to keep rugs off and avoid dragging furniture for about a day. Most of them do not say why, so it sounds like liability language and people ignore it. Then something goes wrong and nobody understands what happened.

The protective coat we put down is water-based. It dries in about half an hour, which is when the room is walkable, and it cures over roughly the next day. Those are two different processes. Drying is water leaving. Curing is the coating cross-linking into a continuous hard film, and until that has happened it is soft and it is vulnerable in three specific ways.

What a Rug Does to an Uncured Coat

It blocks air movement, which slows or stops the cure underneath it, so you end up with a soft patch the shape of the rug. Worse, a rug with any rubber or vinyl in its backing can bond to a soft coating and lift it when moved. The mark that leaves is a dull rectangle that will not clean out, because the coating is physically damaged. Twenty-four hours removes the risk entirely.

Why Dragging Furniture Is Different From Walking

Walking puts weight straight down for a fraction of a second. Dragging puts a shearing force sideways across the surface, continuously, along a line. A soft coating tears under that where it would not under footfall. This is why we say walk on it whenever you like and do not slide the sofa. Lift and place, or wait until tomorrow.

The Third One Is Water

An uncured water-based coating is still receptive to water. A spill, a wet dog, or a mop in the first day can leave a permanent cloudy mark in a coat that would have shrugged it off two days later. Around here, with the lake in walking distance and back doors that see a lot of traffic, that is the one worth actually planning around. Keep the wet stuff off it for one day.

Not sure whether your floor needs cleaning or refinishing? There are three tests you can run yourself in about a minute, and they will tell you which one you are dealing with before anyone quotes you.

One day of walking on it normally and not sliding anything across it. That is the whole ask, and it is what makes the difference between a coat that lasts eighteen months and one that fails in three. Book on 940-220-8158 with $50 off the first clean.

Hardwood questions from Hickory Creek homeowners

What happens if I put the rugs back the same evening?

Often nothing, and sometimes a soft or marked patch that has to be dealt with at the next visit. It is genuinely a risk and not a formality. If you have a reason the rugs must go down, tell us and we can sequence the rooms so the ones that matter get done first thing in the morning.

Can we put the dining chairs back?

Yes, lifted and placed, with the felt pads on them. What to avoid is pulling a chair out and sliding it back repeatedly for the first day, which is exactly the shearing action that damages a soft coat.

Does a slow cure mean a bad job?

No, it means normal chemistry. Cure time is influenced by temperature and humidity, so a cool damp week takes longer than a hot dry one. If conditions are unusual on the day, we will tell you and adjust what we ask of you.

Which areas does the crew cover?

Hickory Creek including Point Vista, The Enclave, Steeplechase North and South, Shadow Creek Estates, Waterview, Hickory Creek Crossing, The Alcove, Shore Haven, and Lakeview, plus Lake Dallas, Highland Village, Corinth, Shady Shores, Double Oak, and Lewisville.
